New! Candelas Concert traditional: Tomas Delgado comes from a background where the family has been making stringed instruments since 1928. This concert sized uke has a lot of volume and appointments that you would have found on ukes made in the '20s. With case. $750 Stock#NUB30752 photo

New! Candelas "Nunes": With great respect for the creativity of Manuel Nunes, Tomas Delgado has crafted a beautiful sounding replica of the Nunes uke. The same mid-tone color, the rope style appointments, and above all, a beautiful tone. He has also added the improvement of having the set of the neck to modern standards, thus making the playing of the instrument a whole lot easier. Solid mahogany with rosewood fingerboard. With chipboard case. $750 Stock#NUB30748 photo

1950s Harmony Soprano standard: Another of those well constructed Harmony birch soprano ukes. This one has a little rougher finish due to the previous owner taking it on camping trips with his family during his Boy Scout years. Still, this one has plenty of merit even if it doesn't have the badges to prove it. $60 Stock#UUB31249

1950s Harmony Art Deco Soprano uke: For many years Harmony made these birch bodied soprano ukes dressing them up in various stylish designs. Among the most collectable are the Art Deco series: these appear in the "History of the Ukulele" book, and on Hawaiian Shirt fabrics everywhere, but the ukes themselves are getting harder and harder to find. Get this one and hang it up in your mid-Century home to show folks what great taste you have. With chipboard case. $175 Stock#UUB31000 photo

ca. 1920s Hawaiian Koa soprano: Ah, those sneaky devils. The big label inside reads: "genuine Hawaiian Koa Ukulele". This causes most people to assume that this sweet, all Koa uke was made in Hawaii. After all, it does have the Nunes style peghead as well as some beautifully figured Koa on the top, back & sides. But this uke was actually made in a far off Polynesian village called Chicago, in the Illinois archipelago. Yes, friends, the wood is genuine Hawaiian Koa, but the construction is 100% Haole. However, lineage aside, it sounds terrific and has that authentic Hawaiian tone. With chipboard case. $650 Stock#UUB31248 PHOTO

New! Lag U77C: Excellent looking and sounding concert ukulele from French designer Lag. Honey Mahogany top, back & sides and unique Tiki style decoration. With bag. $149 Stock#NUB34691

New! Antonio Pinto de Carvalho Cavaquinho: Quite often we get requests for a steel strung ukulele. Here is the equivalent of just such an instrument, the Portuguese Cavaquinho, predecessor to the Hawaiian ukulele. For those of you unfamiliar with the cavaquinho, it is a slotted peg head, Spruce and Rosewood ukulele scaled instrument that is outfitted with steel strings. Often tuned higher than a ukulele, it can be retrofitted with heavier strings to be played in the uke range. This beautiful instrument has wood body binding all around and was hand built in the city of Braga, Portugal. Braga has often been referred to as the "Portuguese Rome" for its concentration of religious architecture. This little instrument is truly worthy of being called another beautiful work of art from Braga. With hard case. $599Stock#NUB30711

c. 1949 Martin Style O Soprano: It is difficult to pin an exact date on Martin ukes. They were made without serial numbers, but we have the guide of the various appointments that changed over the years and the memories of family members who recall, sometimes in disagreement with each other, but always quite clearly when a particular instrument was purchased. "He bought it when he graduated college in 1949", "No he didn't, it was when his daughter Judy was born in 1950", "Judy was born in 1948"," Oh no dear, Judy was born later than that, I remember it well" and so on, and so on. Never the less,  what we have here is a fine sounding and unusually loud, clean and original version of the Martin Style O all Mahogany uke made sometime between 1948 and 1950 (maybe). With original Chipboard case. $700 Stock#UUB33779 PHOTO

1933 Martin Style 1K: Surely there are few things in this world more precious than an almost 80 year old Martin Koa uke. If ukes have Mojo, then this one has a lot! A few repairs over the years, but the tone and the figure of the Koa are both exquisite. With case. $1650 Stock#UUB22047  photo

c. 1950s Martin style 1M: For many, this represents the ultimate in a great sounding soprano uke.Made by Martin 60 years ago, this all original style 1 has the Martin guitar sound in an all mahogany ukulele. As good as it gets in the ukulele world! With chipboard case. $1150 Stock#UUB33980 photo

c. 1930s Martin Style 2 Soprano: The style 2 Martin soprano is a collector's favorite. This particular example should appeal to those who delight in a rich sounding instrument. The two features that eliminate this from the museum is are recent tuners and the repaired side crack. The tone is not affected in the least, in fact if anything, it might even sound just a little bit better than the other Martin ukes one might encounter. We think so. With original canvas bag. $800 Stock#UUB32709 PHOTO

Used Nice Tenor cutaway: Created by Ed Bacani in Hawaii, Nice Ukuleles offer beautiful instruments of exotic Hawaiian Koa wood at extremely attractive prices.
