Used Alvarez DY-58 9 string: OK, so it's not really a 12 string guitar. But where else would you look for this unique guitar? This is a dreadnought guitar with the highest 3 strings doubled as they would be on a 12 string guitar. The effect is all the power of a 12 string for the highs with none of the muddiness associated with 12 string guitar bass notes. A cool idea. Big Joe Williams would dig it of course. With case. $600 Stock#UGC34495

2008 Goodall QMJ-12: Without a doubt the most spectacular looking, incredible sounding 12 string guitar we have ever seen. 1979 Hofner HAS-12: Based rather loosely on the slope shouldered dreadnought that Gibson called their Jumbo model, this 30+ year old German made Hofner 12 string not only has the nostalgia market covered, but also has an extremely neck as well as a crisp, clear tone. The natural finish top is fairly rare for this model Hofner too. Solid European Spruce top with laminate Mahogany back & sides. Pretty darn nice if you ask me. 2008 Taylor GA8-12: "Back in the day", if you played a 12 string guitar, the theory was that in order to round right, it had to be the size of a Fiat with the scale length of a railroad tie. Then along came the ever creative Mr. Bob Taylor, and everything changed. No longer were 12 string guitars big rumbling masses of sound with little or no definition. The Taylor GA 12, built with inspiration form Taylor's own "14" series instruments, proved that 12 string guitars could be just as precise sounding as their 6 string brethren. The GA8-12 is an extremely comfortable size to hold, even for young ladies and smaller gentlemen. The body is Sitka Spruce and Indian Rosewood with of course, the fast, fast Taylor neck. Just like a Taylor 6 string, only twice as much fun. With hard case, $1600 Stock#UGB27160 photo
