1938 Gibson L Century: The full name of this instrument is The Gibson L Century of Progress. Made to honor the Century of Progress exhibition in Chicago in 1933-34. c. 1920s Regal Parlor guitar: In the early part of the 20th Century, making music in your parlor was a sign of refinement. If your parlor was on the smallish side, and you couldn't fit a piano inside, you played mandolin or guitar. The result was that makers began to make instruments by the thousands (Lyon & Healy for example once boasted "over 100,000 instruments sold per year!). Regal, located in Chicago made instruments not only under the Regal label, but also under various other names, and some with no name as well. This solid Spruce top, laminate Brazilian Rosewood back & sides beauty is very typical of the period with one major exception: this one has a great neck set (it appears that a "back peel" neck set was performed a few decades back, along with a new bridge in the original style). Someone went to a lot of trouble and expense to make this guitar extremely playable, as well as great sounding. Your turn to own a great sounding, comfortable guitar. With case. $850. Stock#UGB34535

c. 1928 Washburn Model 5854: A transition model with a concert sized body that was made in the years before the Tonk Bros. took over distribution of Washburn.
