BUFFALO BROS. HAS THE LARGEST STOCK OF EHLERS GUITARS IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!
New! Ehlers PBZ: We first met Rob Ehlers back in 1971. He strode in to our little shop in Pasadena with a small leather case under his arm. Nestled inside was an exquisite Martin/Ditson 1-45. An incredible thing to see, since C.F. Martin and Company made only 6 in the first part of the 20th Century. He rejected our offer of $400 (cash!) for the instrument saying that even though that amount was four times what he paid for it, he would like to keep it for a while. Fast forward to 2005, when he presented us with a gift, an Ehlers version of the 1-45. We have cherished that guitar and it still holds a place of honor in the BuffaloBros. most hallowed "not for sale" instruments. Now we have received a second "Ehlers Ditson 1-45". This guitar has an amazing amountof volume and warm, rich tone, especially considering its size. The appointments are stunning! Excellent fine grained European Spruce top with back and sides of some of the most beautifully figured Brazilian Rosewood ever to grace any instrument. The top is bound in Ebony, with a hand inlaid border of green heart abalone. This feature is duplicated by the fret board border and also by the border of the peg head. The crowning touch is the Ehlers logo in the Brazilian Rosewood peg head over lay and the gold, engraved Sloane tuners surrounding the slotted peg head. We wouldn't sell ours for tens of thousands of dollars, but you can obtain this one for your very own, with hard case. BuffaloBros. price: $7000 Stock#NGC32237
New! Ehlers CRK: The person lucky enough to claim this beautiful Ehlers creation for their own will experience a lifetime of pleasure not only playing this wonderful instrument, but also just admiring it. The guitar has a body shape and size that is reminiscent of the 1930s Gibson L-00. But the similarity ends there. This Ehlers has a slotted peghead, 14 frets clear to the body, and Waverly "Sloane" style tuners. The top is smooth grained Cedar bound in lightly stained Rosewood with an abalone rosette. The back and sides are incredibly figured flame Koa with neck to match. The fretboard and bridge are Ebony. The tone is crisp and clear with a delightful set of overtones that warm the tonality without muddying up the fundamental. An exquisite instrument. With hard case. BuffaloBros. price: $4850 Stock#NGC32238
New! Ehlers TB CRW: The Brothers Buffalo learned a valuable lesson here: "never argue with a genius". Rob Ehlers brought us a couple of his new "thin body" guitars almost two years ago. Let's just say that we were a little skeptical as to the reception they would be given by players. We were wrong. The first two players who saw them went home with their new Ehlers with huge smiles on their faces. The guitars sounded terrific. We called Rob back and asked for more. Here it is over eighteen months later and we have just received the new version. We have served our time in Ehlers purgatory, we will doubt no more. You will have no doubts either when you play this Cedar topped, Rosewood back & sides creation. Positively phenomenal! With hard case. BuffaloBros. price: $3500 Stock#NGC32236 photo
New! Ehlers 15QMA: WOW! One glance at this 15" Ehlers with the master grade Quilted Mahogany back and sides and you'll immediately stop to pick her up. As you grasp the neck and begin to play, you'll notice the Adirondack Spruce top. And as you listen you'll hear that warm tone from the Mahogany and the purity of the Adirondack. There is something about Rob Ehlers' instruments that have a strong allure to the musician and performer. And is is not surprising as when you create music you already know in your head what it should sound like. And thus the search goes on for an instrument to stir the soul, bring the music to life, and fill your dreams to become reality. And that my friends, is exactly what an Ehlers does. And while we can write many words extolling the superb qualities, it truly is something that needs to be experienced first hand. So stop by the shop, walk upstairs, have a seat and begin to play. It won't take long for you to realize your dream was just fulfilled. With hardcase. LIST: $5,750. BuffaloBros. price: $4450. Stock #NGB20062*

JUST IN!! 1995 Ehlers 15C Custom Deluxe: Somehow, even the word spectacular doesn't seem adequate enough to describe this one of a kind creation from Rob Ehlers. The 15 1/2" wide body has some of the finest Brazilian Rosewood even seen. Just absolutely spectacular! (there's that word again). To categorize the quality of this Brazilian, one would need so many "A"s that we'd wear a hole in the A key. The top and rosette are bordered in hand-cut, hand-inlaid green heart abalone. This theme is carried over to the abalone bordered pick guard, and then blossoms into the most outrageous fretboard inlay you'll ever see. It's a "tree of life" plus!!! To top it all off, the peghead has a gorgeous "fern" inlay in abalone shell. Even the photographs don't do justice to the overall beauty of this finely crafted, world class instrument. And many such players come to our shop because we have a wide selection of instruments that meet their criteria. For many years we've carried Rob Ehlers fine instruments and this example surely speaks volumes for his work. A cedar top is used to give a sweet tone to the guitar with multi-colored 1/2 herringbone binding. Attractive koa back and sides enhance the sound as well as add beauty to the instrument. The peghead has a premium paua border inlay. While beauty isn't a requirement to an exceptional instrument ~ it's hard not to appreciate the brown diagonal purfling or the Brazilian Rosewood binding and peghead veneer. Once your hand grasps the neck and you begin to play ~ the guitar seems to come to life. Resonating every note almost effortlessly. There's some finish checking on the top, but who cares? The tone is the thing. With hard case $3250. Stock #UGB17868 photo
