Gibson '57 Les Paul Goldtop
The Gibson Les Paul was originally released with a gold metallic finish over the top which at the time was to convey a sense of luxury. For the landmark year of 1957, the model was outifitted with the newly designed hum cancelling pickup and this combination of elements forever changed the sound of the electric guitar and its role in music. This faithful recreation of the 1957 Les Paul Goldtop features a solid carved maple top with single layer aged white binding, solid mahogany back, one-piece mahogany neck with early '50s rounded profile and bound rosewood fingerboard, pearl trapezoid inlay, nickel hardward including ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece and vintage tulip tuning machines and a high gloss finish. The Gibson Les Paul Goldtop continues to be a highly sought after model, whether it's for the sweet singing sound of Dickey Betts or Robben Ford or the power or rock-and-roll like the Supersuckers!
