ASHDOWN

New! Ashdown Perfect Ten Mini Rig: Based on the amplifier design of the award-winning Perfect Ten combo, but sporting a more powerful 65-Watt output – the Perfect Ten head is partnered by two 10" cabinets to create the P10 MiniRig - a true miniature powerhouse.  Conceived as a home or practice set-up, the Perfect Ten MiniRig actually packs enough muscle to hold its own in small gigs, far outstripping standard practice amps in both quality and flexibility. The feature set is typically Ashdown, providing all the essential controls you’ll need in an intuitive and logical layout. Input and Output Gain controls are standard, along with a three-band rotary tone control section (Treble, Middle and Bass), plus the bass response can be instantly extended by way of a simple ‘Deep’ switch. A front panel CD input means you can play along with pre-recorded backing tracks, while also doubling as a line output for recording situations. If noise is an issue then the headphone output allows silent practicing, and a classic Ashdown VU meter lets you keep an eye on your levels. Durability is further enhanced by the use of tough protective corners and heavy duty covering. (MSRP $379) OUR PRICE - $269! Stock #NAB22919.

New! Ashdown ALSF 500 Superfly: Ashdown Engineering’s extraordinary new Superfly combines a sophisticated programmable bass preamplifier and a powerful 2 x 250 Watts RMS power section in a compact bass amp head that weighs in at just 10 pounds. A product of the innovative Ashdown Labs development programme, the Superfly is gifted with a powerful, authoritative sound with a strong, controlled bottom end and clear, precise highs, all courtesy of an advanced digital power amp section. Programming the preamplifier is an intuitive and straightforward process. The user can store 69 programmes comprising of inputlevel, 7-band graphic equalisation and compression settings, and switch them via any MIDI-compatible pedal to achieve an exceptional degree of live performance control on stage. CARR

New! Carr Mercury 1-12 Combo Black Tolex: The Mercury inspires visions of a classic cabinet design from a time long ago, but within the chassis of the Mercury you'll discover an inspiring and truly innovative circuit (along with utterly remarkable tone). While it is true that your friends, band mates and family members will admire the Mercury for its good looks and 'polite' power rating, Mercury owners seem to cherish this amp for many other practical reasons. Carr's exclusive power attenuating circuit enables the Mercury to be played at 8, 2, 1/2 and only 1/10 watts, with no appreciable change in tone, yet the Mercury easily yields enough clean headroom for club work. Add their renowned reverb circuit, a 3-position boost switch for subtle-to-intense output tube distortion, plus the incomparably thick and rich tone of a single EL-34 power tube, and the Mercury will earn its rightful place among your most treasured instruments. $2150 Stock #NAB266822.

JUST IN!! New! Carr Rambler 1-12 Combo Black Tolex: Long before the birth of Carr Amplifiers, I spent years playing, repairing, modifying and intently listening to classic guitar amps. The Rambler was one of my earliest signature designs, and today it is still one of our most popular models. Why? It's no accident that the Rambler succeeds in delivering classic American 'deluxe' tone with dramatically expanded clean headroom, solid bass response and the option of 28 watt pentode or 14 watt triode operation. The Rambler simply reflects my desire to improve and refine the original concept of an appropriately powered 1x12 club amp with reverb and tremolo. Rambler owners describe their amps as being warm, full and round, with a surprisingly high threshold of clean tone, (which also makes the Rambler uniquely suited to virtually any overdrive pedal ever built). The Rambler is considered by many to be the quintessential club amp, voiced to meet the needs of virtually any player, and all types of music. $2290 Stock #NAB27505.

JUST IN!! New! Carr Slant 6V 1-12 Combo Black Tolex: The 40 watt Slant 6V offers an impressive range of legendary American and British tones, and unprecedented versatility and usable power without sacrificing the warmth, clarity and handbuilt, all-tube tone that are the hallmark of Carr amplifiers. At the heart of the Slant 6V are two independent, foot-switchable channels: Channel One bridges a shimmering clean tone with gutbucket, overdriven blues, while the dual gain settings on Channel Two offer pure tube crunch, soaring sustain and fluid dynamic response. The Slant 6V can be operated at half-power in cathode bias (18W) or fixed bias mode (22W), yielding tones reminiscent of early tweed and AC-style combos in cathode mode, and a punchier, more tightly defined sound in fixed bias mode. And at full power, the Slant 6V runs four 6V6 output tubes split in cathode and fixed bias pairs, placing every conceivable classic tube tone at your fingertips. $2890 Stock #NAB27628.

JUST IN!! New! Carr Vincent 1-12 Combo Custom Cowboy Covering: The 6L6 Vincent is biased deeply into Class A, yielding a pushed, ready-to-jump feel. The vibe from the Vincent is explosive and forward-tilting. It distorts very well in a large curd Tweedish way when cranked. The clean tone is gorgeous and dimensional. The 1x12 is wonderfully compact. Features include reverb, two power levels (33 or 7 watts), variable drive control (internal clean boost which gives the amp more push and OD when the amp is turned up - you can hear more of the winding on strings and dynamic, super twang), lastly a footswitchable fixed boost (partial tone stack bypass), which greatly increases midrange punch and yields a wonderful grind - the volume increase is just right for a solo or if the amp is really overdriving it thickens and adds sustain. Controls include volume, treble, mid (with panel on/off for boost), bass, reverb, drive, and power level. $2590 Stock #NAB27687. photo

JUST IN!! Used! Carr Vincent 1-12 Combo Black: (EXC+) ....that's right, folks! It's a pre-owned, beautifully maintained and barely used Carr Vincent 1-12 combo!!! Easy to handle size, big tone and big savings if you're quick enough. $2100 Stock #UAB27534.

Due to trademark issues Carr has changed the name of The Vincent to The Viceroy. This also means that this is very likely the LAST one we will be getting from Carr with the Vincent nameplate.

ELECTRIC

New! Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb: The 22-watt (at 8 ohms) ’65 Deluxe Reverb amp is for rock, country or blues players who want a moderately powered amp they can crank up on the gig or in the studio. The fat, snappy guitar tones heard on many of our favorite recordings, from Memphis to Abbey Road, were made using the Deluxe amp. Features include a pair of 6V6 Groove Tube™ output tubes, one 5AR4 rectifier tube, four 12AX7 preamp tubes, two 12AT7 tubes, one 12” 8-ohm Jensen® C-12K speaker, dual channels (normal and vibrato), tube-driven Fender reverb, tube vibrato, two-button footswitch for reverb and vibrato on-off, black textured vinyl covering and silver grille cloth. (MSRP $1214) Stock #NAB26266.

Circa 1980 Fender Deluxe Reverb: (EXC) The Deluxe Reverb has had a huge following for years and it's popularity was due to great tone and easy portability when compared to the Twin Reverb.  Most importantly, the testament to it's purity of tone is that it essentially made little change from it's hand wired design from 1968-1981 and is nearly identical to the original blackface model made in 1963-1967!  22 watts of pure tube tone, reverb, vibrato, and a pull knob for volume "boost" that became standard in the late 70's ~ this is one KILLER amplifier!  If you are looking for REAL vintage tone, and REAL performance in a small package (that will most likely rise in value as the years continue) ~ this is it!  Super clean, and recently serviced so she's ready to hit the road (just get here fast before she disappears!).  So cool, it even has a denim jean amp cover!  How retro is that????!!! $1000. Stock #UAB24436.

New! Fender Jazz King: Talk about king of clean! The new Jazz King is a 140 watt solid state amp with single 15" Eminence Legend Speaker, all new preamp design taylored for clean versatile tone shaping, professional XLR line output with level control, ground lift and pre-post EQ, effects loop and tuner output with mute, long-spring Fender Reverb by Accutronics, limiter with On/Off button (prevents distortion when you play hard), three-button footswitch and fitted cover included. (MSRP $1000) Stock #NAB20561.

JUST IN!! Used! Fender Princeton 65: (VG) The Fender Princeton 65 is a killer deal for a real Fender amp that's manageable enough for home use, yet powerful enough for the small venue. 65 watts solid state, 2 channels for clean and lead sounds, spring reverb. Amazingly affordable! $250 Stock #UAB27320.

JUST IN!! '70s Fender Princeton Silverface: (EXC) As the prices of vintage amps continue to rise, it gets harder to find something with vibe and tone that's still affordable for the every day player. Fear not, for there are still a few sleepers out there.....which brings us to this fine example! The '70s Fender Princeton circuitry is virtually identical to that found in the blackface models from the mid-60s making it an incredible value in today's vintage market. A perfect practice or recording amp that can produce a wide variety of classic Fender tube amp tones at studio or home sound levels. $750! Stock #UAB27424.

1965 Fender Pro Blackface: (G) Vibrato controls changed to Mid and Master, replaced speaker. This is a great sounding amp that could fairly easily be converted back to original specs. 1x15" speaker $1200. Stock #UAB22884.

New! Fender Pro Junior 60th Anniversary Woody Honey Blonde ~~~ LAST ONE! ~~~: A luxuriously appointed version of our beloved Pro Junior, created to celebrate Fender’s 60th anniversary and in production in 2006 only! The “plug-and-play” Woody’s solid wood construction, 15-watt all-tube Pro Junior chassis and upgraded 10” Jensen speaker combine to produce great sound from a small package. Its smart cosmetic appointments hearken back to 1946-era Fender amps, with a semi-transparent Honey Blonde gloss finish over solid ash, red vintage grille cloth with three chrome grill strips, solid ash handle, commemorative badge and deluxe vintage slip cover. It’s the perfect addition to the discriminating guitarist’s office or living room. (MSRP $1200) Stock #NAB23051.

This is a recreation of Jimmy's very own custom designed amp from the late-'60s/early-'70s, 2-input single channel with master volume and XLR "Switch" jack on the front panel that works as a volume cut with the amount of cut controlled by the Balance knob. The circuitry is very different from other 100 watt Hiwatt heads and produces a tone closer in feel to the "Plexi" heads of the late-'60s while retaining the clarity and fidelity that Hiwatt's are known for. Only 50 of these special editions will be made worldwide and this is serial number JP002.....Jimmy has #1!!! Buffalo Bros price: $3700 Stock #NAB27701.

CABINETS

New! Marshall 1960BV: Straight 4X12 cabinet, 4/16 ohm mono or 8 ohm stereo, Celestion Vintage 70 watt speakers. (MSRP $1398) Stock #NAB16202 and NAB16205.

New! Marshall 1960AC: Angled 4x12 cabinet/mono/Celestion G12M-25 Greenback speakers. Tonally, this falls somewhere between the 1960A's brightness and the 1960AV's warmth. Greenbacks have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. Obviously, for a vintage/Hendrix type tone, Greenbacks are the way to go. Heavily distorted lead lines sound extremely full too, but when these speakers are driven really hard, they can get rather piercing and thin. Due to the fact that a 100W Marshall amp will kick out far more than 100 Watts when cranked to the max, we do NOT recommend a 100W head is used with a 1960AC or BX as a half stack, if the head is going to be turned up to "eleven!" (unless a Powerbrake is being used, of course). Such a set-up might sound wonderful for a short period of time but there's a fine line between clever and stupid. Doing this crosses it...unless the user doesn't mind the inconvenience and expense of replacing blown speakers! (MSRP $1350) Stock#NAB16201

New! Marshall 1960BC: 4x12 straight cabinet, “classic” 100 watt mono, Celestion G12M-25 Greenback speakers. (MSRP $1350) Stock#NAB16204 and NAB16206.

HANDWIRED

handw                                                            grop

New! Marshall 1959SLPHW 100 Watt Head: As with every amp in Marshall's Handwired series, all of the original components and materials were used or reproduced in the 1959HW and the methods of construction employed in the late 1960s were revisited too. Both transformers -- output and power -- have been meticulously recreated by Dagnall Electronics to duplicate the electrical performance and characteristics of the originals while satisfying stringent modern safety legislations. As a result of this attention to detail, the 1959HW's handwired tag-board lives up to the slogan, 'Point-to-Point Perfection'." 1959HW Head. This handwired reissue, all-valve head (3 x ECC83/12AX7 in the preamp, 4 x EL34s in power amp) features two channels, I and II (labeled 'High Treble' and 'Normal' respectively in later renditions of the original 1959 model due to the differences in their voicing), each with two inputs -- high sensitivity and low sensitivity. Both channels share tone shaping controls for Bass, Middle, Treble and Presence. (MSRP $4000) Stock #NAB20775

MORE MARSHALL

New! Marshall AS100D: Specially designed for use with a variety of acoustic instruments with or without pickups. Its four channels give you the flexibility to handle piezo transducers or magnetic pickups, a mic for vocals or instruments, and external audio equipment via a phono input channel. Channels 1 and 2 have separate EQ and level controls but also may be linked. 2x50W stereo power gives you plenty of oomph for stage performance, and a balanced line out allows direct connection to a PA. Built-in digital reverb, delay, and chorus add dimension to your sound, and a balanced parallel effects loop with level is provided. Anti-feedback controls include a phase switch and notch filters for each channel with selectable extra notch depth for channels 1 and 2. (MSRP $1000) Stock #NAB26774.

JUST IN!! New! Marshall 2266C Vintage Modern 2x12 Combo: The Marshall 2266C 50 watt 2x12 combo is an all-valve single channel amplifier with a choice of two 'dynamic ranges' selectable by footswitch. The Low range equates to the performance you would come to expect from a stock vintage Marshall amplifier in terms of tone and available gain. The High ranges adds an extra preamp valve into the signal path, facilitating those classic hard rock tones of the '70s. Add to this the ability to dynamically interface with your instrument's volume and tone controls and the experience translates into a truly expressive and organic feel in performance. Two 'frequency selective' pre-amp volume or gain controls (Body and Detail) facilitate greater flexibility of tonal shaping for individual guitars and styles while the power amplifier is heavily based on the first Marshall amplifiers to be produced, with two KT66 output valves yielding that substantial fat and smooth tone. A mid boost switch on the front panel fattens the tone even more while a traditional Marshall tone control circuit enables fine tuning of your sound. (MSRP $2399) Stock #NAB27686.

Vox

vox amp photo

The late 1950’s saw the launch of the VOX AC15 shortly followed by the AC30; remarkable then and legendary today. Right from the start, VOX valve amplifiers were adopted by some of the world’s most outstanding musical talents including The Stones, The Beatles and The Shadows and countless others.

New! Vox AmPlug AC30: The Vox amPlug AC30 headphone guitar amplifier plugs straight into your guitar's output jack! You get the unmistakable vibe of a classic Vox AC30 amp from the amPlug AC30; just plug this micro tonemeister in and hear the chiming sound of the British Invasion in your headphones. Using two gain stages, the amPlug AC30 is able to emulate the vintage vibe of the legendary amp, while giving you the portability and convenience to take it anywhere. Now you can enjoy incredible guitar tone wherever you want with the amPlug AC30 headphone amp! (MSRP $56) Only $39.99!

IN STOCK NOW!! New! Vox AmPlug Classic Rock: The Vox AmPlug Classic Rock emulates the sound of a British 100 watt amp. (MSRP $56) Only $39.99!

New! Vox AC30H2 White Tolex: Your search for the Holy Grail of VOX tone ends here. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of VOX guitar amplifiers, Vox has introduced the latest in the new Heritage Collection range of hand-wired amplifiers– the AC30H2. Rather than just a typical reissue where a vintage amp is dusted off and copied, this amplifier, like the others in the Heritage Collection, transports you through the golden age of VOX tone, combining the prized EF86 preamp channel of 1958 with the 1963 Top Boost channel all in one amplifier. Add in some modern tone shaping control enhancements and the result is perhaps the finest VOX amplifier in the company’s 50 year history. Channel 1 is the EF86 Preamp channel, and features two inputs wired in the traditional way providing a 6dB gain difference between them. A two-position BASS SHIFT switch is included, with position 1 voiced to the original vintage-correct bass response and position 2 voiced to tighten the bass response and reduce any muddiness during high volume use. The three-position BRILLIANCE SWITCH provides flat response when in the OFF position. Position 1 is a new position voiced like the early AC30 “Treble” amps, while position 2 is the original brilliance circuit, which acts as a dramatic bass cut. The EF86 Mode switch re-configures the EF86 valve from Pentode mode to Triode mode. Triode mode will give a lower gain tone with higher headroom. Pentode mode is the famed original mode and has a very sweet high gain tone with less headroom. Channel 2 is the Top Boost Preamp channel. Like Channel 1, this channel includes two inputs wired with a 6dB gain difference between them. The Treble and Bass controls are from the 1963 Top Boost circuit and are extremely interactive. Very minor adjustments of these controls can yield dramatic changes in tone colour. And true to VOX form is the Top Cut control, which cuts high from either channel end as it’s turned up. The O/P Switch adds even more flexibility to the AC30 Heritage. This switch changes the power output valves from Pentode Mode, which is the normal operating mode of the power amplifier, to Triode Mode which halves the power output to 15 watts and at the same time offering smoother tonal characteristics. (MSRP $2599) $1999 Stock #NAB26020.

1960s Epiphone Futura: (G) One of the great things we love are finding jewels like this tube wonder coming into our shop!  It was in the late 1950's that Gibson bought Epiphone and by the 1960's they were producing these fine amps at their Kalamazoo, MI plant.  This amp is around 1966/1967 (well before Epiphone amp production was moved to Japan in 1970) and is a STEAL in terms of performance!  As we plugged in, the "real challenge" wasn't finding out what it could do, but what it couldn't as it is such a tone monster that it seems to do it all!  If you want classic rock - just step on the tremolo and reverb footswitch and it'll do Born on a Bayou, step off the tremolo and you can dial in the reverb to an assortment of depth to handle any classic American band rock songs you can think of all the way down to Surf band music!  Want blues? No problem ~ jump channels and you'll get a blues tone that can punch out a HUGE bass note, or back off the bass control and get that thick T-Bone sound.  Jazz? Yup, your archtop will feel at home like it is back in a 60's nightclub.  There's no doubt this was Epiphone's answer to some of the classic Fender amps of the day by offering four 10" drivers and 100 watts of raw tube horsepower.  But best of all is that the Futura offers all that classic vintage performance in a package that is still very affordable.  Bring your guitar and come on down to plug into this beauty.  As you gaze down the clean lines of the cabinet, you'll wind up spending hours finding a wide variety of tones with a killer vibe!  Heck even has a "loudness" control!  Just $850 Stock #UAB18044. photo

New! Gomez "G" Reverb Black Tolex: "The Gomez "G Reverb Amp" embodies much of the vibe of the 60's in it's aesthetics and sound quality. From the black front panel and vintage script to the rough blonde tolex, wheat grille cloth and cream knobs it is an amp of unparalleled beauty. The internal electronic wiring of the chassis couples classic and innovative modern designs with attention to detail in its sturdy, reliable and high-performance componentry. Playing your guitar through the G Reverb Amp you revisit a sound that harkens back to yesteryear with it's lush mid-scooped tones, lush reverb and thick pulsating tremolo. 12 watts, 1x15" Jenson P-15N Alnico speaker. $1699 Stock #NAC24672.

New! Gomez "El Sonido" Rough Blonde Tolex: Rockabilly music has such an incredible force and "that sound" to make folks move, jump and jive. However, those classic amps that helped create that hot, greasy, driven style have always been difficult to find in any reasonably good condition in the aftermarket. Even if found in great shape, those amps would need to be refurbished with new caps and tubes to wail at it's full potential for a rockin' cat. Search no more! The "El Sonido" amp has arrived! El Sonido (spanish forn "the sound") is a hand-built, hand-wired amp featuring the early 60's Fender 6G6-B Bassman circuit with the signature Gomez amp styling of rough-blonde tolex, wheat grille cloth and white barrel knobs -while retaining the same dedication to heavy duty construction and quality componentry. The "El Sonido" features JJ/Tesla ECC803S miniature tubes for the preamps and phase inverter and rockin' reissue TUNG-SOL 5881 output tubes. $1799 Stock #NAC26593

New! Gretsch G5222 Electromatic Tweed Covering: It's no big secret that low wattage guitar amps have long been used in the studio for huge tones. Pushing just 5 watts, the G5222 is perfect for any situation where too much volume would be a problem, but the tone needs to be perfect. Strum gently and you get warm, round chords. Dig in and the G5222 gets mean, with tones that are ripe for searing riffs. All this tube goodness is made possible by a 12AX7 in the preamp and a 6V6 in the power amp. Covered in tweed with a leather strap handle, the G5222 certainly has the appearance of a tube-powered jewel from the '50s. The retro-script emblems on the amp further adds to the vibe. Afterall, nothing says classic like Gretsch! (MSRP $240) Stock #NAB27191, NAB27192, NAB27193, NAB27194 and NAB271955.
