ca. 1932 Dobro 'Double Cyclops": This was a short-lived model which featured a double screen hole just below the fretboard. (the standard 'cyclops' had a single screen in the same place). A previous owner has removed all the finish so it is now the natural color of the wood. The neck angle dictates that it be played lap style or as a slide guitar only. The tone is very unique and resembles the sound of a single cone National with a hint of the bell-like Dobro quality added in. With chipboard case. $1500 Stock#URB27615 photo
1932 Dobro model 27 Cyclops: Very desirable and extremely collectable. This original square neck has all the original finish with the original hard case. ca. 1930s Regal Dobro model 90: When Dobro gave license to Regal to make instruments under their brand, thankfully Regal continued to make things exactly as the Dopyeras had designed them. This early 30s example is a carbon copy of the model 90 with everything being exactly the same save for the Regal decal instead of the Dobro one. The previous owner of this instrument has set it up for lap style playing and dubbed it "old faithful" which he inscribed on the top. With chipboard case. $1000 Stock#URB27377 photo
1929 Dobro Model 125: About 40 years ago, my friend Joel Tepp and I came across one of these exquisite four piece Walnut back Dobros. We weren't really sure what it was, but we bought it anyway. When we took it to Ed, Rudy and John at Dobro, they all gathered 'round and were quite proud that they had made such a beautiful instrument. Since that time, this is the only other one we have ever seen with such a beautiful Walnut back. This is a round neck instrument, which has a nut raiser (easily removed if you wish) so that it can be played in the lap style. With original chipboard case. $3500 Stock#URC30271 photo

National 14 Fret Style O: Based on the old Style O from the 1930’s, this fine offering from National has a brass body that is plated in bright nickel and etched with a traditional Hawaiian motif, complete with palm trees encircling its sides. The back of the guitar is domed, increasing its bass response and the front sports a very cool looking “chicken foot” style cover plate. Used Regal RC-55 "Park Avenue": The creative Mr. Greg Rich has a history of creating unusual and interesting appointments for instruments. In his tenure as in house artist in residence for Saga Musical Instruments, he produced several unique and interesting engraved instruments. Mr. Rich's personal policy of "never let any surface be devoid of decoration" led to his creation of the "Park Avenue". Take Regal's top of the line tri-cone metal resonator and decorate every surface with an artistic tableau. The front of the guitar features intertwining leaves which partially conceal an art deco style 30s fashion model. There are also 3 medallions engraved on the front, two of which contain similar appearing '30s women, while the third medallion features plumerias. The sides, believe it or not, feature a thin, engraved border, very simply and elegantly done. The back however, is a myriad of designs: at the top is an art deco ingenue in a flowing gown. Inside the gown is an engraved medallion with 3 more beautiful women inside. At the bottom of the image is another full length model in a cocktail gown flanked by a medallion containing a woman in tri-cornered hat and scarf, and on the other side another woman (Holly Golightly perhaps?) in a dress with billowing sleeves. With this much decoration, you just might be tempted to put it in a glass case and just stare at it all the time, but you won't be able to resist the urge to play it. With hard case. $1650 Stock#URB24182* photo
