NOW IN STOCK !! New! Martin Stefan Grossman Limited Edition Signature Model (see below)

000

New! Martin 000-18 SB Authentic: Oh my, what has Martin done now? Well friends, they have reached back into the past and brought forth what has to be my heart's desire. No other Martin model has made my heart race as much as the vintage 000-18 Authentic model in sunburst. As a young lad growing up on the family farm in Manhattan Beach, California, after slaving my afternoons away babysitting my little brother, I would look at all the photographs of the old time players and dream about owning a Martin guitar. And when the local music store received a used and battered 1930s OM-18 in that gorgeous dark sunburst, I would go down to the store and play the three chords (eventually four chords) that I knew, and hope to somehow be able to afford the princely sum of $65, to buy that guitar. Unfortunately, I never bought it, but a few years later was able to save money from my job in a factory that made cardboard boxes and purchased a slightly less battered 1941 D-18 for the exhorbitant price of $125. The moral of the story, get it now, you may not have the opportunity again. So, don't let this one pass you by, if this is your heart's desire, grab it now! With hard case (msrp: $8749) Stock#NGB27014 photo

New! Martin 000-18 Authentic: Here's the terrifically wonderful Martin 000-18 Authentic with a natural finish Adirondack Spruce top. With hard case (msrp: $8499) Stock#NGB27451

New! Martin 000-28 EC: The fantastic sounding Martin Eric Clapton Signature model. Resplendant in its aged toner top with the herringbone trim, and dark Rosewood back & sides. The neck is a slightly modified version of the 1940s V neck, 1 3/4" wide at the nut and the comfortable 24.9" scale. With hard case (msrp: $4349). Stock#NGB28625

Used Martin 000-28B Norman Blake: (exc) Ladies and gentleman, the beautiful, the gorgeous, the lovely, Norman Blake 000-28 with an Adirondack Spruce top and back & sides of rapidly disappearing Brazilian Rosewood. Martin originally intended to make 100 of these limited editions, but when they got to #52, they had to stop because of the unavailability of the wood. So, just like the stamp with the little upside down airplane, this one could be more valuable because the label reads : #38 OF 100. So if this lovely 12 fret 000 is your heart's desire, don't let it get away! #38 of 52. With hard case. Buffalobros. price: $10,000 Stock# UGB16782. photo

Used Martin 000-28B Norman Blake: (exc) With the recent announcement by several makers that Brazilian Rosewood is no longer available, means that this Limited Edition Martin is now getting even harder to find. The Norman Blake model was a very limited production model from Martin to begin with. This one is #35 of only 52 that were created. Using the popular 000 sized body as a start, Martin made a short scale (24.9") 12 fret neck with a 1 13/16" nut width, combined with a 2 3/8" string spacing at the nut, and tall, wide frets which greatly improves the tonality and accuracy. The top is Adirondack Spruce with a sound hole 1/8" in diameter less that a standard 000. This allows for a tremendously tight focus of the sound. The top is braced with 1/4" scalloped Adirondack Spruce which allows the top to ring like a bell. Finishing touches are the fossilized walrus ivory bridge pins and the engraved Waverly-Sloane tuning machines with their ivoroid buttons. Very, very elegant. With hard case $10,000 Stock#UGB16385*

New! Martin Arts & Crafts 2: Hmmm? What to say about this one? A first blush, it appears to be a very uniquely decorated 000 body with a twelve fret, slotted peghead neck. Well. it is, but that's not all this finely crafted Martin has to offer. The Spruce top is silky smooth with '30s style herringbone purfling and wood binding. (something we haven't seen in a non custom shop model in over 70 years. The back & sides are of quarter-sawn White Oak, stained to a golden brown. For fans of the many nameless mail-order guitars of the early 20th Century, will recognize this wood combination immediately. At four places around the body are darker Rosewood pegs of the style of Stickley furniture (except that they don't stick out). The bridge is unique and has a shape not previously seen on a Martin production model, a sort of fancy belly bridge. The tuning machines loook as though they are fashioned from pewter, another homage to the arts and crafts tradition.  And finally, the "Ginko leaf" fingerboard inlay is very unique and delicate and reminiscent of tulips. They could just as easily fit in to the Victorian era. The sound of the guitar is as unique as the visual appointments, a great blend of richness and clarity not found in any other guitar in our memory. However, first and foremost, it IS a Martin. With Ltd. Ed. hard case (msrp: $6499) Stock#NGB27059

OM

New! Martin OM-18GE: The original Martin Orchestra Model as envisioned by Perry Bechtel  approximately 80 years ago. An Adirondack Spruce top with Mahogany back & sides. A wonderful creation. Quite possibly the most perfect Martin model being built Today. With hard case (msrp:$4699) Stock#NGB26847*

New! Martin OM-28GE: Years from now, when players and collectors are discussing the "Golden Age" of luthiery, they may have to refer to them as Golden Age I and Golden Age II. The early Golden Age (from approx. 1927 to 1942) was an era that saw many of the classic designs become recognized examples of high quality guitar making. From 1984 to the present, guitar makers have re-invented the art of guitar making, often referring to the original designs. The Martin OM-28GE, is just such an instrument. Taking the original early '30s 14 fret OM design characteristics and marrying it to modern techniques to bring forth an instrument that will be recognized as the epitome of the luthier's art. The use of the hallowed Adirondack Spruce top, along with the fast disappearing Brazilian Rosewood back & sides, is an excellent start. Inside the guitar of course, Martin used the original "high X" scalloped bracing. The tone is just what you'd expect from an instrument that is one of the most sought after models in the Martin line. The neck is the perfect 1 3/4" wide at the nut and is carved to the vintage V shape. Here's a chance to own a guitar which will provide several lifetimes of pure playing pleasure. With hard case. (msrp: $14,999) Stock# NGB21907. photo

New! Martin OMC-28 BZ: Talk about the two Golden Eras of guitar making combined into a great instrument! Here's your modern version of the 1930s OM-28 with its Adirondack Spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood back & sides. Yet, there is something radically different about this one...the cutaway!!! Yes, Martin has taken their legendary OM design with its scalloped bracing, select woods, the easy playing V shaped 1 3/4" wide neck, and added a cutaway for the modern player. The best of both eras! (First person who says "in one era and out the other" can go to your room). With hard case. (msrp: $14,999) Stock# NGB21379. photo

New! Martin OMC-28 BZ: Here's the cutaway that everyone loves--a solid polished gloss Adirondack Spruce top, glossy solid Brazilian Rosewood back & sides, and a Mahogany neck. Also, an Ebony fingerboard without position markers, nickel Waverly tuners, herringbone top border, rear zigzag purfling, grained ivoroid binding, bone nut & saddle, fossil ivory end pins, and a Brazilian Rosewood headplate with the large old style logo! The comfortable 14 fret "modified V " neck feels great, and makes playing this great-sounding guitar even more fun. Remember, these are no longer in production, so this is one of the last brand new ones you're going to see! With hard case. (msrp: $14,999) Stock# NGB21177. photo

D-42

SOLD OUT - MORE ON THE WAY!!!

D-45

New! Martin D-45: The Martin guitar that has long been considered the ultimate guitar in the standard series. In years past, even those who played fantastic sounding D-28 models, and could not find a vintage D-45 to purchase, would send their guitars to a custom luthier (the most prolific of whom was Mike Longworth in Chattanooga), and had their 28 series guitar "45'd". Those who were lucky enough to have a real D-45, such as Red Smiley and Richard Lockmiller, and later rock luminaries such as Stephen Stills and Neal Young, would rather face torture than to give up their D-45s !!!!  Fortunately, you do not have to endure such hardships. The Martin D-45 is still one of the most recognizable treasures in the guitar world. With hard case (msrp: $9299) Stock#NGB28150 photo

OTHERS & SPECIAL

New! Martin HD-7 Roger McGuinn: Fans of the Byrds and Mr. McGuinn will be interested in this one, as well as anyone with a taste for the unusual. This top shelf 14-fret dreadnought features a solid glossy Sitka Spruce top, glossy solid Rosewood back & sides, and a modified V Mahogany neck. The neat thing about this guitar is the doubled G string--tuned normally along with an extra one an octave up. Also, a 1 3/4" wide Ebony fingerboard with style 45 hexagon abalone inlays, ivoroid body, neck, & headstock binding, a style 45 abalone rosette, herringbone top border, gold Schaller tuners with ebonoid buttons, and a tortoise pickguard. This guitar has been designed around the 7th string to extract every bit of tone and playability possible, from the modified headstock and bridge to the forward-shifted scalloped bracing. And of course Martin did an excellent job--this one rings with life, and is a joy to hear and see. It's #162, signed on the label by McGuinn and CMF IV. With hard case. (msrp: $5599) Stock# NGB20636. New! Martin "America's Guitar 175th Anniv. Model":  This is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities to own something very special. Martin has created a very special instrument to commemorate their 175th year of guitar making. A dreadnought (what else?) with an Adirondack Spruce top and back & sides of highly figured Mdadgascar Rosewood. Only 175 are being produced, and this beauty is number 68 in the series. With hard case (msrp: $7499) Stock#NGB28473. photo

New! Martin HJ-38 Stefan Grossman: Is there anyone out there who is not familiar with Stefan Grossman? The author and co-author of hundreds of instructional, book, tapes, cds and DVDs. Mr. Grossman, first appeared on record with the Even Dozen Jug Band (an aggregation that also included Maria Muldaur, Zal Yanofsky, David Grisman, Joshua Rifkin, and just about every other player of note since the '60s). Mr. Grossman is known for being a perfectionist, especially when it comes to sound. The Martin folks explained that the guitar took much longer to design than usual because SG would not allow them to release any instrument that he did not deem perfect. Well, it is perfect! Robust, aggressive tonality with all the richness that can come from any Martin, new or old! This example is number 10 in the limited run. A rare opportunity to own a suberb, highly collectable Martin guitar. With hard case (msrp: $4999) Stock#NGB27102 photo
