Standard

Used Goodall MYSC: An extremely powerful Goodall guitar. James' view of acoustic guitar construction is that the tone is of primary importance. So much so that sometimes his guitars are accused of being "polite". Not so with this beastie. Not only does it have the Goodall sound, but in this case, it also has plenty of ear crushing volume. So much projection that it can be heard without amplification at the back of large concert halls. The top is hand select Port Orford Cedar, bound in Rosewood. The back and sides are of Myrtlewood, Both of these tonewoods are found in the state of Oregon where the huge amounts of rainfall cause trees to grow to massive heights and girths so that when harvested, a talented luthier such as Mr. Goodall can use the heart of the tree as their tonewoods. The result is spectacular tonal quality with grain structure that produces a great amount of volume too. The James Goodall touch of slotted diamonds and doves on the fretboard, echoed by the dove bridge wing inlays, and gold tuning machines with Ebony buttons, hallmarks the beauty of this Goodall contribution to acoustic excellence. Concert Jumbo

2004 Goodall KCJC: James Goodall has always made spectacular guitars, and none more spectacular than this Spruce top, Koa back & sides concert jumbo. When the Goodall family embarked from the warm tropical breezes of Hawaii, and headed to Fort Bragg, they left behind automobiles, clothing, furniture (I would have LOVED to be at THAT garage sale!). But as we were present at the container being unloaded on a brisk day on the Mendocino Coast, we noticed that James took great care to ship his stash of Hawaiian Koa! This prized tonewood grows only on the big island of Hawaii and nowhere else in the world. It is in limited supply, especially in the higher grades such as that which was used to make this fine example. The previous owner  purchased this guitar from us after playing every Goodall we had available. After 5 hours of comparison, he selected this fine example, based solely on its exremely exquisite tonal qualities. He took it home to his mansion in the Bay area where he polished it, restrung it and also lovingly played it on a regular basis. The dulcet tones brought forth bear witness to that fact. Nothing improves a guitar like playing, and nothing sounds like a mature Goodall that has been caressed into producing that aged harmonious tone. Completed in December of 2004, this guitar was created for the NAMM show in January 2005. As you know, the Winter NAMM show is a very prestigious event for dealers and manufacturers. Makers reserve their top quality wood specifically to be shown at that time. Goodall guitars are easily among the finest in the world, and this is certainly among the finest of Goodalls. 2002 Goodall MCJC: A superb Goodall guitar seven years on. The years have been extremely rewarding to this fine example of the art of James Goodall. James' world renowned Concert Jumbo model, 16" wide at the lower bout, with a Western Red Cedar top, mated to a highly figured flame Maple back & sides. The Cedar top is particularly known for its rich, warm mid and upper range, while the Maple contributes power and projection. This is an intense combination! Just one arpeggio and you heart starts keeping time to the music. A fantastic acoustic experience. With hard case. $3950 Stock#UGB9218. photo BUY NOW

used Goodall RCJC: The motto of Goodall Guitars is "Acoustic Excellence". As long as James and his son Luke continue to produce instruments such as this one, that motto will surely be realized. This 16" lower bout cutaway has been very nicely maintained. The top is of Western Red Cedar, while the back & sides are Indian Rosewood. This is a potent combination for players who prefer as rich a tone as possible. This guitar delivers! James Goodall gave you a cutaway and the previous owner donates a Schertler blue stick pickup. Certainly one of the finest instruments we have encountered for recording studio or stage. With hard case $3850 Stock#UGB19148. photo

Used Goodall ROCJ: An incredibly beautiful creation form the heart and hands of James Goodall. The back & sides are of a rare wood called Robusta Red Eucalyptus. This wood is very seldom seen on any instrument, but James hand selected this gorgeous set for this fine guitar. Beautifully matched to a Master Grade Redwood top, the sound is robust, yet has that certain magical quality that produces the sweetest overtones imaginable. Adding to the visual beauty are the body, peghead, and fretboard, all bound in bloodwood. The contrast of the bloodwood with the Ebony appointments is visually stunning.  Top it off with gold plated tuners with Ebony buttons, and you can see why James is the most renowned guitar maker when it comes to visual beauty. Don't let the visual aspects fool you though. This is not just another pretty face. The tone is overwhelming, and the guitar can kick you-know-what when asked to do so. Grand Concert

Used Goodall Royal Hawaiian KGCCK:  James Goodall has always had the innate ability to eke out the best that koa wood has to offer.  While some luthiers preoccupy themselves with finding the most figured piece of wood, James holds out for the exceptionally rare pieces that have both figure and a magical tap tone, a harder feat to accomplish than one might think.  Clearly James found his mark with this Grand Concert.  The AAAA Koa may give you some inkling of it's physical beauty but barely scratches the surface of what it offers tonally.  Koa of this quality offers you the dynamic range of spruce, the sparkle of Brazilian, and the warmth of the best mahogany all encompassed with that honey-glow tone of koa.  A guitar that truly has it all; beauty, brains, depth and a fine pedigree.  With hard case $5950 Stock#UGC30018 PHOTO
