Custom Order G&L Options

Since we're local to the G&L factory it's no surprise we specialize in "custom order" G&L's! We can get any new G&L model in any color, curly maple topped, birdseye necked, or ANY option that G&L offers!! Let the master craftsmen at G&L build you the guitar of your dreams!!

Here is a generic "list" of options ~ however some models already include certain features, so always ask us for details on the model you want. Prices are based on current G&L price sheet and are subject to change. (But we'll do our best to update this page if they do!)

Upgrade to Schaller Locking Tuners ~ $50 List

8 ) Headstock:

Upgrade to "reverse" headstock ~ $200 List (No logo appears, guitars ONLY)

9) Neck binding:

White neck binding (only with standard frets) ~ $300 List (not available on Invaders)

Body Options

1) Wood & "Top" upgrades:

Alder is the standard body wood.
Ash upgrade is available ~ $100 List (includes premier finish ~ no charge on select models!)
Premium "Flame Maple" top (over Ash only) ~ $550 List
Premium "Quilted Maple" top (over Ash only) ~ $750 List

2) Body Binding:

Top bound in white: $200 List (available on ASAT guitars and ASAT basses)
Top & Back bound in white: $400 List
"Natural Wood binding": $120 (they simply clear coat the natural wood, great with dark colors)

3) Rear body Contour!

If you want a Tele style body to have a Strat style back contour or "belly cut" ~ $100 List

4) Pickguard Upgrades:

White is standard (select models offer other choices) ~ no charge
White Pearloid, Tortoise, Creme, 3-ply Black, 3-ply White, 3-plu Mint, 1-ply Mirror, 1-ply Black ~ $50 List

5) Bridge Options:

G&L Dual Fulcrum Tremolo ~ $100 List
G&L Saddle Lock (Fixed) Bridge ~ $100 List
Bigsby Tremolo (with Inset Mount to body!) ~ $400 List
Note: Bigsby only comes with # 1 necks and isn't available on Left Handed guitars.

6) Finishes:

Standard Finishes are "No charge!"
Premier Finishes are $100 (but includes Ash body if you wish)
Metal Flake Finishes are $400.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) How Long does it take to build a Custom Order instrument??

G&L typically quotes 18-24 weeks to build a custom instrument to order. HOWEVER, the time is usually shorter!

2) How much does it cost?

Our standard pricing applies even to Custom Order guitars. A 25% NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is REQUIRED to to custom order a guitar. The balance is due prior to shipping. Mastercard & Visa accepted. International Orders are paid by BANK WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. Note: Custom Order instruments do not qualify for 100% upgrade policy.
