GT-EL34M FX2 DUET: The GT-EL34M was shown at NAMM. This tube is based upon a tube which is considered something of an icon to EL34 users in both the audio world and guitar amp world. There were a number of variants of the original tube and GT chose the classic XF2 dual getter version to reproduce. The original was a classic and this tube is on it's way to developing it's own great track record just as the GT-6L6GE, E34LS, and KT88SV proprietary tubes. These may be in short supply. GT-E34L-S DUET: New exclusive GT design with special "heat wings" attached to plate for more power, longer life, and better tone. Big bottom, very dynamic, most powerful in it's class. GT-12AT7: This tube is used widely in most of the US-made amps and, in particular, the Fender amps. Fender amps with reverb use two 12AT7s - one for the reverb drive stage, and one used as a phase inverter to drive the push/pull output stage. The 12AT7s make-up is very similar to the 12AX7 and can be substituted for a 12AX7 in a pinch, although it won't sound very good. Some players do prefer to use the 12AT7 in the driver stage in a Marshall for a cleaner, brighter tone. (The driver or phase inverter is the 12AX7 located nearest the power tubes.) The 12AT7 is rarely used in a tone-generating stage, but rather in function stages, so our GT-12AT7 is selected for durability. This Groove Tubes version will some times bear the number 6201 as well as 12AT7. This is a special (and more expensive) production run with a rugged construction. GT-12AX7-C: A Chinese version of the 12AX7-C. Great for Marshalls and Fenders. Sweet warm mid range tone, complements tone of European amps. A tube that takes some of the edge off of high gain amps by reducing the brightness while still having the gain and articulation. For those that change first stage gain preamp tubes to change the taste and character of their amps (remember, this can be done in less than a minute without tools, adjustments, or a "tech"). NVS Cool: These are vintage correct strat replacement pickups that utilize Norstrand's simulated hand-wound technoloy. This process provides a more pleasant high end with a nice complex character, but they still have plenty of quack and punch. Made with traditional AlNiCo magnets and Formvar wire on laser cut vulanized fibre bobbins they are a calibrated set with hotter bridge pickup and reverse wound and reverse polarized mid pickup for hum cancellening in the combo positions.
