Weighing in at a trim and slim 40 lbs, this is a 45 watt all-tube, hand-wired, point-to-point amp powered by a pair of 6L6's, 1x12" Jensen ceramic magnet speaker, 3-position bright switch, interactive mid control and reverb. Although the Kenny Burrell model is a great jazz amp the voicing of this amp is well suited to other styles of music. Hiwatt Anniversary Half Stack ~~~ LIMITED EDITION ~~~: This limited edition Hiwatt 50 watt half stack is a recreation of the earliest split-logo Hiwatt amplifiers produced by Dave Reeves. It features a split-chassis design with the control panel mounted to the top of the cabinet, 3 channels (Normal, Brilliant and Presence) with separate Master volume controls, Treble and Bass controls. The Presence control has an Intesity knob to shape the tone. This early circuit has a bit more gain to the sound while maintaining it's clarity. New! Marshall 1960AC: Angled 4x12 cabinet/mono/Celestion G12M-25 Greenback speakers. Tonally, this falls somewhere between the 1960A's brightness and the 1960AV's warmth. Greenbacks have a very distinctive sound with a fast, snappy response that adds detail and dynamics to both clean and distorted playing. Obviously, for a vintage/Hendrix type tone, Greenbacks are the way to go. Heavily distorted lead lines sound extremely full too, but when these speakers are driven really hard, they can get rather piercing and thin. Due to the fact that a 100W Marshall amp will kick out far more than 100 Watts when cranked to the max, we do NOT recommend a 100W head is used with a 1960AC or BX as a half stack, if the head is going to be turned up to "eleven!" (unless a Powerbrake is being used, of course). Such a set-up might sound wonderful for a short period of time but there's a fine line between clever and stupid. Both transformers -- output and power -- have been meticulously recreated by Dagnall Electronics to duplicate the electrical performance and characteristics of the originals while satisfying stringent modern safety legislations. As a result of this attention to detail, the 1959HW's handwired tag-board lives up to the slogan, 'Point-to-Point Perfection'." 1959HW Head. 1976 Marshall Model 1959 Super Lead 100 Watt Head Black Tolex: (VG) You want a killer sounding, rockin' and a-rollin' amp?!?! Then this Marshall model 1959 JMP Super Lead head is what you've been craving. We recently acquired this puppy from a real burnin' pro player buddy of ours and it's definitely one of the best sounding heads we've heard. A master volume control has been tastefully added using the 2nd input of channel 2, leaving the individual volume controls intact and separate. The Tone King Comet 40B is a 40 watt 2x12 combo that can be switched to 20 watts when the lead channel is selected. The amp is powered by a quartet of 6V6 power tubes and features a tube rectifier, spring reverb and series/parallel effects loop with true bypass. The Comet replaced the original Tone King line when the Imperial, Continental and Galaxy were discontinued and is the only model to feature and effects loop.
